Altera subscriptions include one year of software updates. After the first year, the Altera software continues to work but you will not be able to install new updates.

Flexible Licensing Models for PC and Linux Operating Systems

Subscriptions are available in flexible licensing models to support stand-alone PCs or networks including mixtures of PC and Linux clients. The information in Table 1 will help you select the product that best fits into your design environment.

Notes:

1. With v8.0 and later, SW-QUARTUS-SE-FIX no longer includes/supports USB dongles. Licenses are tied to an NIC or similar.
2. SW-QUARTUS-SE-FLT product license servers can be Linux or Windows based. Any client on the network can access the software. The maximum number of users that can access the software at any one time is equal to the number of seats purchased.
3. Support for additional PC or Linux clients can be added to an existing SW-QUARTUS-SE-FLT license server by adding one or more SW-QUARTUS-SE-ADD licenses.
